The technique is called the 4-7-8 method. If you master it and memorize it, you'll be able to find a pleasing calmness in any situation and ultimately help keep body and mind in better health. It's simple to do. Essentially, you breathe in fully through the nose to the count of 4, hold your breathe to the count of 7 and finally exhale deeply through the mouth to the count of 8. You can do this standing or sitting with a straight back and if you can do it with your eyes closed, all the better.
This method helps calm the mind, ease anxiety and promote relaxation. So the next time you have a big presentation, an important interview or difficulty falling asleep, try the exercise.
